Ohio Wine Country Events



The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake is a year-round Ohio vacation destination set on beautiful Lake Erie. Our accommodations are suitable for families, couples, groups, reunions, and retreats. We experience four distinct seasons, each of which offers something unique to visitors — from outdoor attractions to seasonal winetasting events to holiday celebrations. APRIL
9 ~ DiscoveryPaths Lifelong Learners: The Underground Railroad in Ashtabula County Part 1
A two-week series on the Underground Railroad in Ashtabula County is featured in this session and the next. This program will feature a series of presentations about the railroad, operators and those given help.

11 - 27 ~ Noble Art Dinner Theater: Murder at Castle Black

16 ~ DiscoveryPaths Lifelong Learners: The Underground Railroad in Ashtabula County Part 2
This program includes a museum tour that will start at The Lodge as well as a display of Joshua Giddings artifacts among others associated with the Underground Railroad.

20 ~ Easter Sunday
Welcome spring with a delicious buffet, Easter egg hunts, the Easter Bunny, activities, friends, family and more.  Call 440-415-1546 for reservations.

23 ~ DiscoveryPaths Lifelong Learners: Introduction to Wildflower Identification
A wildflowers workshop will be held in the afternoon with instruction on how to use a wildflower guide. Participants will learn about the common wildflowers of the area and where to find them.

26 ~ Scenic Rivers
Includes: Informative morning presentation, box lunch before guided afternoon hikes at nearby rivers, nature-art activities for children, landscape and nature photography workshop. The evening program includes: Grand River Lullaby concert and film presentation. Call 440-466-7100, press 0 for reservations.
Please note, events after the morning presentation are not at The Lodge and require transportation.

Head over to the Botany Challenge course and attempt to identify as many of the flowers as possible (weather and flowering conditions permitting).

Designated by our state representatives just last year, visit The Lodge and the many wineries in Ohio celebrating Ohio Wines Month with events, activities and festivities!

15 ~ Father's Day

JULY
4 ~ Independence Day
Guests are welcome to enjoy the Geneva-on-the-Lake fireworks display, which can be seen from the lodge!

AUGUST
1 - 2 ~ Vintage Ohio
OFF-SITE: Kirtland, about 40 minutes South West of The Lodge.
Taste regional wines, a range of cuisine and entertainment.  Friday night features a spectacular fireworks display. Call 800-227-6972 for more info.

22 - 23 ~ D-Day Reenactment
OFF-SITE: Conneaut, 20 minutes east of The Lodge.
WW II D-Day Re-Enactment! See hundreds of reenactors storm the beach at Normandy with authentic planes, boats, bombs, patriotic concert, USO dance, and more! FREE to the public.

TBD ~ Wine & Walleye Fest
OFF-SITE: Ashtabula Harbor, 15 minutes east of The Lodge. Local wine samples, shopping, live music, walleye & perch meals, a fishing tournament, a lighted boat parade, classic cars, a 5K run - can't fit much more fun in a weekend than that! Call 440-998-6998 for tickets.

SEPTEMBER
1 ~ Labor Day

4 - 7 ~ Thunder on the Strip
OFF-SITE: Geneva-on-the-Lake, 1 minute east of The Lodge.
Motorcycles, motorcycles, MOTORCYCLES! Fun filled weekend with thousands of bikes swarming the strip! Music everywhere. Vendors, Demos, Stunt Shows, and a special Bar Crawl with a shirt. And much more. Call 440-466-1768.

27 - 28 ~ Grape Jamboree
OFF-SITE: Downtown Geneva, 4 miles south of The Lodge.  
The Geneva Grape Jamboree celebrates the harvesting of the local grapes. Free event with two giant parades rides, crafts, food, and concessions. Call 440-466-JAMB (5262) for details. 

OCTOBER
4 ~ Clambake in Horizons

10 ~ Oktoberfest Beer Tasting
Come taste some of the most unique brews here at The Lodge! Enjoy an overnight stay, beer tasting and educational seminar, dinner with expert beer pairing, live entertainment and breakfast for two.
