GENEVA-ON-THE-LAKE, Ohio (March 14, 2008) - The Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake is ushering in Spring with a Grand Easter Buffet and Easter Bunny Egg Hunt on Sunday, March 23 and a palate-tempting Mother's Day Brunch on Sunday, May 11.  Visitors can take a break and immerse themselves in the wonders of spring with the Spring Special Bed & Breakfast, April 1 through June 15.

Celebrate Easter
Families will gather at the Lodge to celebrate Easter with fun activities and the Grand Easter Buffet. 

Traditionalists will enjoy the carved hickory and pineapple ham with brown sugar and raisin glaze and the sliced top round of beef with classic gravy.  Other features include seafood paella, roasted chicken breasts with spinach parmesan cream, Three-cheese filled tortellini tossed with sliced mushrooms and pesto cream sauce and smoked salmon with red onion and capers. Frosted and sugared Easter cookies are among the dessert selections.

The Easter Bunny will preside over two special Easter Egg Hunts for buffet guests as children search for candy-filled eggs at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Lodge.  Guests will also enjoy a visit with the Easter Bunny, who will be making appearances throughout the Lodge from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Easter Day.

Treat Mom on her Special Day
The Mother's Day Brunch tradition continues at the Lodge with a wide array of delightful selections.  Made-to-order Belgian waffles; fresh, chef-made omelets; tropical fruits; cinnamon French toast with warm maple syrup; carved hickory ham, fluffy scrambled eggs, bacon and breakfast potatoes are sure to please.  Baked caramel apple cobbler, an assortment of pies, cakes and torts offer a sweet finale.

GENEVA-ON-THE-LAKE, Ohio (Feb. 15, 2008) History buffs, diving enthusiasts and Lake Erie lovers are invited to immerse themselves in a weekend packed with below-the-surface stories, intrigue and survival at Shipwrecks, Below the Waterline, Friday, February 29 through Saturday, March 1, at the Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake - the first of three getaways in the A Great Lake Experience series.

Presented by Kent State University Ashtabula Campus, the weekend begins with a Friday evening opening reception where guests can enjoy hors d'oeuvres as they mingle with the featured speakers and fellow guests. On Saturday, discover the secrets that live beneath Lake Erie as authors Georgann and Mike Wachter uncover the mysteries of shipwrecks from the 1700s to the present.

Then, on the darker side of Lake Erie tales, guests will have the opportunity to experience the terror and tragedy of real-life, sole survivor Dennis Hale as he shares his story of living through the sinking of the Daniel J. Morrel in 1966. Dennis speaks of the pain of going through the giant waves and freezing 44-degree water as he faced death, and lived to tell about it.

Later that afternoon, the Wachters will explore 12 new Lake Erie shipwrecks over dessert during the presentation "The Last Course."

The package includes a Friday one-night stay, Friday evening meet-and-greet session, appetizers, cash bar, live music, and the opportunity to view artifacts and mingle with some local experts. Saturday includes breakfast, educational seminars, a guided excursion to Ashtabula Harbor Marine Museum, lunch at the Lodge and a dessert reception. The package price begins at $299 (plus tax per couple).

The second and third in the series of the KSU-presented programs includes Lighthouse Weekend, May 2-3, along with Lakes and Rivers Weekend, October 17-18. Guests can add a Saturday night for $89 plus tax, per couple, any room.

GENEVA-ON-THE-LAKE, Ohio (Jan. 14, 2008) Radio legend and author John Gorman will take guests inside the glory days of Cleveland's nationally recognized rock radio station, WMMS, during a special Fireside Chat at the Lodge at Geneva-on-the-Lake on Sunday, January 20, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. The Fireside Chat is part of the Lodge's continuing Fireside Author Series and is open to the public and Lodge guests at no charge.

Gorman's memoir, "The Buzzard: Inside the Glory Days of WMMS and Cleveland Rock Radio" details his experience as WMMS music and program director during the station's prime from 1973 to 1986. Guests will learn how WMMS become one of the most popular and influential rock stations in the country while Cleveland staked its claim as the "Rock and Roll Capital." Gorman will also share the story behind his creation of the Buzzard, the official mascot of WMMS. A Boston native and Bay Village resident, Gorman was inducted into the Ohio Radio-TV Hall of Fame in 2000.

Guests are invited to enjoy a 45-minute talk by Gorman, a question-and-answer session and book signing alongside the crackling fire in the Lodge's four-story fireplace.
